Through ages, the Nature has created an unusual complex of corridors and chambers, decorated with hundreds of stalactites, stalagmites and pisolites in different shapes and forms. Human eyes can watch this magnificent display since the 60s of the 20th C., when a 180-metre underground sightseeing route, which reveals these unique creations of nature, was opened.
Each of the cave’s chambers has its own name. The tour starts with visiting the largest of chambers - the Cavern of Rubble, the name comes from the stones covering the cave’s bottom. In the fractures of the ceiling, there are dripstone formation which have developed into plait-like and wool-like (resembling sheep fleece) forms. Later on, the visitors enter the Column Chamber, which name refers to an imposing dripstone columns located there; they can also find several small lakes in there. From the bridge there is a way down, towards the heart of the “Paradise” - the most impressive room, called the Chamber of Stalactites, with a “forest” of stalactites, of which there are about 200 on each square metre. The stalagmites, which can also be found in there, have the shapes resembling people or animals. Apart from these, there are also the High Chamber and the Entrance Cavern. “There is no place like the Paradise” – often say the tourists who visit Świętokrzyskie, and after a trip to the Cave, it is difficult not to confirm this statement.
Additionally, by the entrance to the cave, one can see a museum exposition of a recreated camp of the Neanderthal family with three full-size men and remains of prehistoric animals, like the mammoth, hairy rhinoceros or cave bear.
